# Privacy Policy for Tab Memory – Smart Tab Manager _Last updated: October 13, 2025_ Tab Memory is a Chrome extension designed to help users save, organize, and restore groups of browser tabs. We value your privacy and are fully committed to transparency in how your data is handled. --- ## Data We Capture - **Tab titles and URLs only.** Tab Memory captures the titles and URLs of your open tabs when you choose to save a session. - **Manual action required.** The extension only saves tab data when you explicitly click the “Save Current Session” button — it never runs automatically or collects browsing data without your consent. - **Session naming.** You can name your saved tab groups for easier organization; this information is stored locally and never shared. --- ## How Data is Stored - **Local storage only.** All saved sessions (tab names, URLs, and timestamps) are stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s storage API. - **No external servers.** We do not use or connect to any remote servers. Your data never leaves your device. - **No analytics or tracking.** The extension does not use Google Analytics or any other tracking system. --- ## Permissions Justification - **tabs**: Required to read the titles and URLs of open tabs in order to save and restore sessions. - **storage**: Used to store your saved sessions and preferences locally within Chrome. - **host permissions** (if requested): Only used to reopen saved URLs when restoring a session. The extension does not modify, monitor, or interact with the content of any webpage. --- ## What We Do Not Do - We do **not** collect or track browsing history. - We do **not** sell, rent, or share any user data. - We do **not** display ads or use third-party analytics. - We do **not** access private or hidden web content. --- ## Your Control - You can delete all saved sessions anytime directly from the extension’s interface. - You can clear all data via Chrome’s “Clear browsing data” → “Hosted app data.” - You have complete control over what sessions are created, saved, and deleted. --- ## Security Your data remains private within your browser.
